I would imagine the complete opposite, if we were to do well, i.e. Champs league etc, we would be more attractive to a buyer, not so much if we're playing in the Championship

Juventus have one of the most successful honours list of clubs in Europe despite playing in athletics stadiums.
Roma and Lazio don't seem to have suffered with their history of playing in an athletics stadium either.
Do they have crowds full of neutrals?
Do they ban bods for standing up, or taking in banners?
